Our Operations

Exploration and Production of Oil & Gas

Schooner Energy manages operations using systems as the foundation of implementing the company’s commitment to managing operational risk and achieving exceptional performance. We promote a high-performance culture to achieve sustainable business outcomes where we operate.

Asset integrity and operational risks are managed through a systematic and consistent process using Risk Assessment, Management of Change, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards to reduce risk to As Low As Reasonably Practical (ALARP).

Well Delivery Process

Schooner Energy Inc. manages all its well construction activities ensuring that all risks are managed, changes are made in a controlled manner, appropriate standards are adhered to, and that a sufficiently resourced and competent organisation is in place.

The success and value enhancement in any project are maximised by clearly defining the objectives, planning correctly, understanding the risks and developing effective mitigation and contingency plans and ultimately, managing performance. The planning phase of any project is when the maximum potential to enhance value exits. No matter how well the project is executed, if the initial plan is poor, value will be lost. Proper planning provides a solid foundation for effective execution and mitigating risk, thereby adding value.

Asset Development Potential

The energys transition requires dependable, local energy. We plan to develop domestic oil & natural gas resources to insulate areas from global supply disruptions, reduce regional dependence on imports, and ensure continuous energy for homes, industries, and institutions.

Our evaluation portfolio is positioned so our operational practices provide a strategic advantage to the areas:

Atlantic Canada Natural Gas

  • Map of Atlantic Canada showing offshore sedimentary basins with discovered natural gas resources not currently in production
  • Discovered natural gas currently not being produced from region.
  • Geological map of Atlantic Canada showing basin depths and fault zones across the Magdalen, Sydney and Antigonish basins.
  • Technological innovation can unlock full potential of existing resource.

Central Canada Light Oil

  • Geological block diagram showing low-decline natural gas assets with multiple productive horizons in central canada light oil.
  • Low decline producing assets with multiple productive horizons.
  • Map of the Williston Sedimentary Basin across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, representing Central Canada light oil assets with multiple productive horizons.

Morocco Natural Gas

  • Map of Morocco’s Atlantic margin showing onshore and offshore natural gas potential in a conjugate basin to Canada’s Scotian Shelf.
  • On the Conjugate Margin of the Atlantic ocean.
  • Conjugate basin to Scotian Shelf in Canada.
  • Onshore and Offshore hydrocarbon potential.
  • Proximal to European natural gas market.
  • Geological cross-section of Morocco’s Bou Draa field showing an untested sub-thrust play with potential for natural gas exploration

Selective Acquisition and Exploration

A successful energy transition requires dependable, local energy and we look to develop energy resources for the long term benefit of the areas we operate. Schooner evaluates oil & gas prospects and properties for their ability to deliver a strategic difference to the local area.

We thoroughly evaluate the potential impact of a development before deciding to proceed, and we listen to the data to adjust our strategy as required. The value of a development is increased for all stakeholders when risk is minimized and potential upside is maximized - our disciplined financial approach, coupled with our belief in the priviledge of a social license to operate, lead to investments for an area's long term benefit.

An Independent Partner

We provide value in the areas we operate by applying innovative technology and processes in finding and developong oil and gas. Our preference is to operate our assets and work with our partners to take a thorough approach to a shared preferred alternative.

Control of investment timing and size leads us to vertically integrate as much of the supply chain as possible - the more certainty we have in our ability to deliver positive results.

We see ourselves as a continously learning, effective operator of choice in all areas where we execute our activies.

The Bottom Line...

We operate under strict regulatory compliance and open engagement with government bodies, communities, and industry partners. Full transparency and accountability guide every phase of our operations, ensuring trust and aligned regional interests.
