Rod Gibbons, President
Rod has spent more than thirty years in the international oil and gas industry, beginning his career as a Production Engineer and Service Rig Coordinator before progressing into senior engineering, operations management, drilling, completions, well intervention, and asset leadership roles with Chevron, Vermilion Energy, Husky Energy, and Suncor. Rod then founded successful Petroleum Engineering based companies.
Throughout his career he has managed the full lifecycle of oil and gas assets—from exploration and drilling through production optimization, well intervention, abandonment, and field development—across Canada, Australia, Europe, and the USA.
His experience has consistently centred on creating value through sound engineering, operational excellence, and disciplined decision-making.
Glen Cantelo, Well Construction Manager
Glen brings over forty years of drilling and well construction leadership to Schooner Energy. Throughout his career in Manitoba and Saskatchewan he has managed drilling rigs, field operations, and multidisciplinary engineering teams while supporting exploration and development programs for Chevron, Enerplus, and Corex.
His practical leadership, extensive operational knowledge, and commitment to safe, efficient well delivery provide Schooner Energy with deep expertise in well construction planning, drilling execution, contractor management, and field operations.
Glen’s experience leading crews through complex drilling programs ensures that projects are executed with the discipline, reliability, and operational excellence expected of a modern exploration and production company.
Willow Gibbons, Director of Strategy and Investment
Willow has more than three decades of experience in entrepreneurship, business development, project leadership, and corporate strategy. Throughout her career, she has founded and managed multiple businesses, led multidisciplinary organizations, developed digital engineering platforms, and built international teams serving industrial clients.
Originally from the Netherlands, Willow spent much of her career in Europe before relocating to Canada. She has a talent for identifying market gaps and transforming complex concepts into robust commercial solutions.
Her leadership style is characterized by a strong commitment to disciplined execution, collaboration, and long-term value creation. Willow ensures Schooner Energy is a focused organization using data and business acumen to make informed decisions.
In addition to the Leadership team, an independent Technical Advisory Board (TAB) provides support and guidance to the company.
The TAB is comprised of industry specialists and community leaders who provide valuable perspectives on the managment of the company's organization and management.
TAB members serve for a term of one year and are nominated as part of ongoing Board of Director meetings. Board members are elected anually by the Annual General Meeting in accordance with the Articles of Association.
